Statistical Physics and Machine Learning: Travel
Please find below some travel instructions to reach the workshop venue using a variety of transportation modes.
Air transport
The closest airport is Halle-Leipzig airport (LEJ), located about 25 km from Leipzig city centre. If you come from abroad, you will most likely need to connect to LEJ from either Frankfurt or Munich airports.
There are regular suburban trains (S-Bahn) running from the airport to the city centre and, in particular, to the main station (Leipzig Hauptbahnhof, look out for lines S5 and S5X), or you can easily find a taxi in front of the terminal building (you should count around 60 Euros for the taxi ride).
Train connection
Leipzig main station is well connected to Germany's train network, and there are direct connections for example to Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt.
Conference venue
The conference will be held at the Seminaris Hotel which is shown on the map below.
To reach the Seminaris Hotel from the main station, take one of trams 3, 7 or 15, get off at Sportforum and change to bus SEV7 to Burghausen until Diakonissenhaus. From there it is a 5 min walk. Alternatively, you might consider taking a taxi (this should be around 20-25 Euros).
